Jet turbine sound
A turbine has no pistons, no firing order and no gearbox, so this preset abandons most of what the rest of the library is built on. Twelve events per revolution is not a cylinder count. It is blade passing frequency, and setting it that high pushes the fundamental far above anything a piston engine produces.
Ten seconds from a standing start. The launch, the gearbox working up through the ratios, then the overrun as the throttle closes. Driven by the same gearbox model the simulator runs, so the shift points are the ones you would hear in the car.
Unevenness is 1 and jitter is 2, the lowest values anywhere on the site. A turbine is a continuous machine: nothing bangs, nothing lopes, nothing arrives late. Every source of irregularity that makes the other presets sound alive is switched off here, and the result still works because a turbine is that smooth.
Noise runs at 175 and brightness at 175, both near the top of their ranges. Most of what you hear from a jet is broadband rush rather than tone, and the balance between those two is the whole sound. Bass drops to 55 and the sub to 40, the lowest pair here.
Comb feedback of 25 and pipe length of 45 keep the exhaust model almost out of the way. There is no long pipe ringing behind a turbine.
One gear at 13.3 km/h per 1000 rpm with a 9,000 ceiling means road speed maps straight onto spool rate. It never shifts. Accelerate and it climbs continuously, which is the closest this site comes to what an electric car does.
One ratio at 13.3 km/h per 1000 rpm means 120 km/h puts it at roughly 9,000 rpm, right on the ceiling. It reaches full spool at motorway speed and sits there, so this one rewards long straight roads rather than corners.
